Pourtant, c\u2019est la premi\u00e8re fois que l\u2019on trouve cette esp\u00e8ce <em>Xenopsylla brasiliensis<\/em> \u00e0 Madagascar. Des travaux de recherche restent \u00e0 entreprendre pour conna\u00eetre sa distribution, sa biologie, son \u00e9cologie \u00e0 Madagascar ainsi que son r\u00f4le v\u00e9ritable dans la transmission.<\/p>\n<p>Cette d\u00e9couverte est importante car elle pourrait donner de nouveaux \u00e9l\u00e9ments de r\u00e9ponse dans la compr\u00e9hension du cycle de transmission de la peste. Au niveau lutte anti-vectorielle, la connaissance de la biologie de ce nouveau vecteur est important pour savoir si les luttes entreprises jusqu\u2019ici sont encore adapt\u00e9es.
