L\u2019OMS a choisi le Laboratoire National de R\u00e9f\u00e9rence (LNR) pour la poliomy\u00e9lite, h\u00e9berg\u00e9 par l\u2019Unit\u00e9 de Virologie de l\u2019IPM, pour accueillir cette formation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La m\u00e9thode de d\u00e9tection directe du poliovirus par s\u00e9quen\u00e7age est une m\u00e9thode ind\u00e9pendante de la culture cellulaire. Elle est s\u00fbre, rapide, robuste et a une sensibilit\u00e9 qui peut atteindre ou d\u00e9passer la sensibilit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;isolement viral. Elle est facile \u00e0 mettre en \u0153uvre sans qu&rsquo;il soit n\u00e9cessaire d&rsquo;acqu\u00e9rir un \u00e9quipement co\u00fbteux. La DDNS r\u00e9duit le d\u00e9lai d&rsquo;obtention d&rsquo;un r\u00e9sultat confirm\u00e9 d&rsquo;au moins 14 jours, ce qui pourrait acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer la r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9pid\u00e9mie de poliovirus. Contrairement \u00e0 la m\u00e9thode classique utilisant le s\u00e9quen\u00e7age Sanger, la technique de s\u00e9quen\u00e7age par Nanopore permet d&rsquo;identifier et de s\u00e9quencer des \u00e9chantillons contenant plusieurs poliovirus ou autres ent\u00e9rovirus (m\u00e9langes viraux).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le LNR pour la poliomy\u00e9lite \u00e0 l\u2019IPM, est un Centre de R\u00e9f\u00e9rence OMS Inter-Pays. Il assure le diagnostic d\u2019infection par les poliovirus (PV) des cas des paralysies flasques aigu\u00ebs (PFA) notifi\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00eele Maurice et \u00e0 Madagascar. Dans le cadre des objectifs de l\u2019OMS pour l\u2019\u00e9radication des poliovirus sauvages (PVS), une surveillance des paralysies flasques aigu\u00ebs (PFA) et une surveillance environnementale (SE) des souches de PV ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mises en place dans les laboratoires accr\u00e9dit\u00e9s par l\u2019OMS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Par ailleurs, pour renforcer les donn\u00e9es \u00e9pid\u00e9miologiques de surveillance, le LNR pour la poliomy\u00e9lite \u00e0 l\u2019IPM r\u00e9alise \u00e9galement la surveillance environnementale depuis 2015.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La poliomy\u00e9lite est une maladie virale contagieuse qui cause une paralysie irr\u00e9versible en quelques heures. Elle est potentiellement mortelle si l\u2019infection atteint les muscles cardiaques ou le syst\u00e8me respiratoire. Les poliovirus (PV) sont les agents responsables de cette maladie paralytique.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"14494\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.pasteur.mg\/en\/jomd-1900-inauguration-ipt\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.pasteur.mg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/JOMD-1900-inauguration-IPT.png?fit=945%2C1179&amp;ssl=1\" data-orig-size=\"945,1179\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-meta=\"{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;orientation&quot;:&quot;0&quot;}\" data-image-title=\"JOMD 1900 inauguration IPT\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.pasteur.mg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/JOMD-1900-inauguration-IPT.png?fit=821%2C1024&amp;ssl=1\" class=\"wp-image-14494 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.pasteur.mg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/24072023-IPM_3726.jpg?resize=474%2C278&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"474\" height=\"278\" data-wp-editing=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Les sessions de formations, th\u00e9oriques et pratiques, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 dispens\u00e9es par des chercheurs provenant de diff\u00e9rents instituts internationaux tels que\u00a0: National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC), University of Edinburgh, Imperial College London en Angleterre et l\u2019Institut National de la Recherche Biom\u00e9dicale (INRB) en R\u00e9publique D\u00e9mocratique du Congo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Huit personnels techniques des laboratoires des Instituts Pasteur (IP) d\u2019Alg\u00e9rie, de la R\u00e9publique Centrafricaine (IP de Bangui), et de Madagascar ont \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s pour participer \u00e0 cette formation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cette formation ax\u00e9e sur la d\u00e9tection directe de poliovirus par la technique de s\u00e9quen\u00e7age par Nanopore a permis aux participants d\u2019acqu\u00e9rir les comp\u00e9tences th\u00e9oriques mais surtout pratiques pour la maitrise de cette technique.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Suite \u00e0 cette formation, une partie de l\u2019\u00e9quipe d&rsquo;experts est rest\u00e9e pour s&rsquo;assurer de la bonne mise en place de la technique par l\u2019\u00e9quipe de l\u2019Unit\u00e9 de Virologie.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u00ab\u00a0Le diagnostic sensible de la poliomy\u00e9lite commence \u00e0 \u00eatre urgent, c\u2019est pourquoi nous avons mis en place un test de d\u00e9tection directe dans nos laboratoires de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence. D\u2019ailleurs, c\u2019est important que l\u2019Institut soit parmi les premiers centres \u00e0 b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier de ce programme \u00e0 cause des cas de poliomy\u00e9lite \u00e0 poliovirus circulant d&rsquo;origine vaccinale de type 1 (cVDPV1) d\u00e9tect\u00e9s dans le pays\u00a0\u00bb, <\/em>affirme Dr KFUTWAH Anfumbom Kitu Womeyi, coordonnateur du r\u00e9seau r\u00e9gional des
